i'm bulimic and i get dizzy and black out wen i havent eaten but now i get them even when i have eaten y is this and how can i stop it?
Answer:
It could be numerous things. Being that it happens even after eating maybe it's an unrelated illness. Maybe the bulimia caused it but now it's unrelated. It could be from a lack of oxygen to the brain or if it is related it could be from a vitamin deficiency. One of my friends had this problem and it mostly happened when she was active however it happened quite often while she was showering. We got her hooked up to a halter monitor to see if it was heart related. You might want to consult a physician on the issue. I would have to say it's probably related to the bulimia after a prolong period of doing this you could have harmed yourself internally. Go get it checked out before you have blackout that lasts longer than usual and it causes brain damage due to lack of oxygen.
Talk to your doctor. If there are qualified MD's on ByeDr.coms, they keep very quiet about it
go see a doctor and work on a better diet
It sounds like eventhough you are no longer bulimic (or are you)? since you said it "I'm bulimic"?? Anyway, your body may be just so weakened from all that bulimia. See a doctor quickly. I will pray for you that you discover some help soon. This is very painful and dangerous my dear.
That sounds serious. See a doctor.
u need 2 c a doc. cud b low blood pressure. that wat it was 4 me. wen u get dizzy lie down, if poss raise ur legs. it should help.
SEE YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE YOU DO MORE DAMAGE.
You need to see an eating specialist. Your question prompts many more in my head. How old are you? What is your height and weight? Dizzziness has some many causes, I can't list them all here.
Bulimia affects so much more than you weight and teeth (if you want nice teeth, bulimia is going to be your worst enemy). It changes your body chemistry in many complex ways. It makes you believe that you will never be good enough, causing a constant striving for an unattainable goal.
You can be pretty, slim, and a wonderful person. But you are going to need to see a medical professional and get support from them and your family and friends. I know its difficult, but you can get though. Good luck and best wishes.
See your doctor ,
You should make an appointment to see your doctor and ask to be referred to a specialist who can help you. You may also have to see a nutritionist who can help you regulate your eating habits again and make sure that you are getting the right balance of things to reduce and even stop these black outs.
Your blood sugar may be messed up at the moment or there may be something more sinister with your blood pressure.
But your doctor will advise you.
And if the doc tries to blow you off, get a second opinion.
If anyone is with you the next time you have a black out, like a close friend, get them to call an ambulance and get to hospital - black outs with no explanation are serious.
Don't think of it only as your bulimia, there may be other factors.
Good Luck!
Blackouts, also called syncope, happen to some bulimics because vomiting depletes electrolytes and can cause heart arrthymias (your heart skips beats or beats too fast.)
Since they are still happening, it may be that you now suffer from a vitamin B-complex deficiency.Actually, you may be missing quite a few vitamins and minerals, especially potassium, calcium, and zinc. Go buy a good multivitamin, and go see your doctor, b/c the blackouts could be due to some other condition not yet diagnosed.
And CONGRATULATIONS ON SURVIVING BULIMIA!
