why is there black coating on tongue? need help.
Answer:
Sometimes your tongue can develop a harmless condition like black tongue or black hairy tongue. It is caused by changes in bacteria and yeast in your mouth possibly do to oral hygiene or certain meds (like Pepto-Bismol) or certain mouthwashes,or a lot of coffee and/or tobacco use .
You can try brush your tongue with a tooth brush (no toothpaste) a few times a day and maybe use a diluted rinse like peroxide and water but if it doesn't start to clear up then see your doctor you may need antibiotics
On the tongue of what?
i was watching a movie, and if your tongue is black, you're lying, and if it's pink, you're not!

If you are taking something with bismuth, like pepto bismol, your tongue will turn black, as will your stools.
